Your Dreams Vs. Reality— Which Will You Choose?

Do you sometimes feel like you have one foot in “reality” and one foot in your vision of what is possible for you?

Do you also consider yourself a dreamer, creative or visionary?

A big theme that’s come up many times in my life is the “reality” of mainstream society vs. the dreams and creative visions I hold for myself that exist outside of what is considered “realistic.”

Not only do I want to live an authentic life that happens to fall outside of mainstream society, but I also have goals and dreams that many people think simply aren’t possible.

Do you relate?

The Contrast Between Mainstream Society and My Desires

For example, when I was in high school, I loved sneaking out to have fun with people outside of my sheltered private school when I should have been sleeping for an exam. I’m not saying that is healthy lol, but I wanted to experience a different kind of life than what was expected of me.

Welcome to my world lol!

When I was in college, I loved staying up all night with creative people having abstract and wild conversations over drinks when I should have been studying and getting top marks. Again, that’s not a smart use of student loan money, but there’s a theme here.

Then, in my 20s, I would work for a year and then travel the world for a year, having a blast connecting with people from different cultures instead of working a traditional job and working my way up the ladder of “career success.” This was a time in my life when I just did what I wanted without thinking much about the future, and everything seemed to just work out for me!

In my 30s, I’ve been working on growing my healing practice, Rainbow Spirit Healing, and resin jewelry endeavor while working in the restaurant industry. It feels like I have one foot in the world of “realistic expectations” and a normal job, and one foot in my dreams that I’m making a reality— which some people think isn’t possible.

I’m constantly shifting between both worlds — the mainstream world of what’s “realistic,” and what I actually dream of living, which exists outside of what a lot of people think is “normal” and even possible.

The Struggle Isn’t Between “You” and “Mainstream Beliefs”— It’s Really an Internal One

For years I felt like I was rebelling against mainstream society, against mainstream beliefs, expectations and norms.

But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that it’s an inner struggle that exists within my own heart and mind. Which makes sense because everything outside of us is just a projection and mirror of our own thoughts, emotions and beliefs!

You have to explore any inner doubts, guilt and shame. You have to choose to believe in yourself and your dreams no matter what. You have to have faith, even through the slow and difficult times.

Have you also realized this?

You have to respect other people and their own dreams and desires too, even if they are very different than yours. We’re all different and unique, so of course, we’ll all have our unique vision of life. Your only mission is to keep your blinders on and stay true to your goals.

Choosing to Believe In Your Dreams Over What Others Say Is Possible For You

If you’ve encountered this challenge a lot in your life as a dreamer and visionary, then it’s clear your soul wants to gain wisdom and experience around this idea.

The spiritual lesson in this specific experience is choosing to believe in your vision, in your dreams, despite what seems “realistic” or actually possible according to many others.

In this process of believing in yourself and your dreams, you gain so much inner strength, confidence, consistency, faith and grit. You learn to follow through with action even before you have any guarantees of success other than your own belief in yourself.

It’s a very valuable and powerful lesson!

Some Powerful Reminders to You on Your Journey of Believing in Yourself and Your Vision

Never forget:

  • There’s so much power in believing you can be supported by the Universe doing what mainstream society considers more “risky” or non-traditional — like healing, coaching, art, music, or something more creative. If other people are doing it, so can you!

  • You have so much power in deciding that you’ll experience more money, success, and abundance than what other people think is possible for you because you love what you do and you’re freaking awesome at it! Just because it’s expected to earn a certain amount of money in your field doesn’t mean you’re capped by that. Stay open to the limitless possibilities to receive more if that’s what you really want!

  • There’s so much power in allowing yourself a life where you have more freedom, more peace, more joy and more creative leeway from having your own business and doing things your way. You deserve the version of your life that you daydream about! And you can have it.

  • Even before it’s manifested or you see confirmation that yes, this can work — the most powerful thing you can do is hold the assumption and belief, and then start stepping into it as if it’s a done deal. That’s the power of assumption!

  • Say to yourself this affirmation and feel it, “This is my destiny!”

This isn’t limited to your career or lifestyle. You can do this with any desire, like a dream relationship or a healthier body, too.

Which Do You Choose— Your Own Dreams or What Seems “Realistic?”

The choice is yours right now.

Do you have the courage to assume that the visions you have for yourself and your life when you’re daydreaming are actually glimpses of a possible reality?

Because you can’t experience something until you believe it’s actually possible for you.

Plus, you only receive visions or desires when they are a possible reality for you. A lot of manifestation gurus say this, and as someone who feels the benevolence of the Universe in times of stillness, I wholeheartedly agree.

Maybe today it’s time for you to ignore “reality,” because the beliefs of mainstream society are just that — commonly shared beliefs. That’s all.

There are plenty of people living amazing lives that other people would say are impossible (only because they don’t believe it’s possible for themselves).

Ignore the naysayers and choose to assume that your dreams are meant for you.

Your only job is to align your beliefs with your heart’s desires and take aligned action to build the bridges for your manifestations to flow into your 3D experience.

Let me know if this resonated! I love hearing from you 😊

Dare to dream and live a big, authentic life that’s as unique as you! 🩷
